Bones for Boston Terriers?

by CK

LC is going to be 7 in a week. We've avoided feeding her bones because I heard that she can choke on them. But I want to give her raw / natural bones. Are turkey necks ok? Anyone have experience? How about beef rib bones? Any advice?

Try deer antlers

We were having the same thoughts about our Boston. He is an avid chewer! We tried giving him naturally shed deer antlers and he loves them. They are a tad pricey. $17 for a large, but it's well worth the price! A large lasted us a couple months! They don't splinter, they just get nawed down. Our B has a very sensitive stomach too and it doesn't affect him in the least!

Raw bones are great! Mine gets split beef knuckles which are really great for their teeth. Turkey necks are great too, and the benefit of feeding raw bones over rawhides is that since they're not cooked all of nutrients are still in them and they're less likely to splinter! :)

Turkey bones!

DO NOT give your dog any poultry bones. They splinter into small pieces that can cut or lodge in your dogs throat.
Beef bones are fine for your dog to gnaw.
