My Boston has a blue eye. He is 7 weeks old. Conformation wise he is perfect. Why is the blue eye forbidden? Is this the start of a problem. Should I neuter him? Please help Thanks B

+ Blue eyes are usually caused by the same gene that causes white-hair. Sometimes the dog is blind in that one eye but not always. There is a lot written about it on the internet so do a little research if you want to.
As far as neutering, I would say it was a good idea. The earlier the better for both of you anyway. There is nothing "wrong" with your Boston and he will make a perfect pet...it's just that for breeding you would want a pup with the best possible "genes" to pass on. When you mate your pup with another...if both pups have that gene...then they may make pups that have problems. And by the way...even the best of champion dogs have pups that are not good breeders and should be spayed/neutered but make great pets.

Blue eyes by: Jen
The blue eyes just means that the pigment gene didnt reach that eye. When bostons have a lot of white people assume they will be deaf because the pigment gene allows them to hear. People assume the blue eyes means they are blind but this isn't true.

I also have a blue eyed Bostonn she is beautiful. Anything different in the Boston breed makes them not normal but I wouldent change Sweet Pea for a champ.
