Bloodshot eyes

My boston terrier has very blood shot eyes, they look filled with blood. What could this be??

 Red Eyes

I just took my BT Angel to the vet yesterday for red eye. Vet said she has a scratch on her eye and gave me some antibiotic ointment to put in her eye 2T daily. This has been going on with her for 3 weeks. The vet said if she doesn't get better to bring her back as this can be serious. I feel so sorry for her as she is a spoiled little girl and her eye is so red. Vet said she could have done it any where.
