Biting!!

My Dog will be 1yrs old tomorrow, but since he was 10 weeks old, (when we got him) he has always had issues biting, and it hasn't gotten any better. He always bites me, and if a woman try's to pet him, he snaps and bites no warning at all! Men is a different story, but if he's comfortable and you touch him, even his daddy, he will snap at you. The vet said when he was little that he was a fearful aggressive dog. How do we fix this? I'm way over it!

Biter 2 too
by: Anonymous

Hi,
Our 14 week old Boston has been here almost 2 weeks. He bites. He does it when frustrated, i.e. when I've finally removed something from his mouth that does NOT belong there.
He also does it during play if his mouth passes by wrist or hand. At times he clamps hard and it HURTS.
We got Cesar Millan video, book, and I watch many dog behavior programs. But this initial simple problem doesn't seem to be addressed for a little puppy.

Any suggestions?

DON'T BITE
by: Anonymous

Biting children back is not an effictive way to get them to stop biting so I'm sure it isn't the effictive way to stop dogs from biting. There is a reason they are biting. Thats what you have to determine and eliminate that behavior or reason.

Biting
by: Monica

My Boston Rusty has issues with this as well, he bites when he is playing. One night I got tired of him biting at me, nipping really is what he does, so I bent down and bit the tip of his ear, not hard, but enough to get his attenion. He stopped his biting with me, hasn't done it since. I know it sounds mean, but I figured if it worked with children (I don't have any and haven't ever done this but friends have told me it works) I decided it might work with my four legged baby.
