At what age is breeding possible?

Hi, We are interested in breeding our male boston puppy. At what age can he sire a litter? Also at what age does a typical female boston go into a heat? We would be buying Mom so we would be able to ensure Mom and baby health. This is very new to us.

When can I breed my Boston
by: Kelley

I breed Bostons and I say after one year for the male. However you should give a lot of consideration to if indeed your pet is an good enough example of a Boston to breed. From what I saw of your picture your dog was red, looked large and his ears didn't go up.

My Boston females usually have a first heat by 9 months. Not wise however to breed a Boston female on the 1st heat all other considerations aside she will no doubt have a small litter and the puppies can get so large your dam can't free whelp.
