Are Boston Terriers very territorial

Hallo I love this site!! Anyway my boston Stevie Nicks is now 5 months old, and of course very playful!! I have noticed that she is becoming very territorial. When we go for walks she would bark at other people passing by, during the day she stays with my mum and her Boxer and 2 dachsunds (who barks all the time) Is she picking up this bad habbit from them, and what can I do?

She responds to NO, but sometimes she is really excited and can't stop. I don't want her to bark so much, I just want her to be a friendly dog. At night she is also very alert. Also something else, when she is really happy to see me or someone else she likes to lick, not such a big problem, but sometimes it turns into a quick snap of the jaw on your nose. How do I stop this or is it normal behavior for a puppy?

You should take charge right away when she does this and give some discipline. usually a sharp jab or poke to the shoulder neck region will do the job. Do not become frustrated or angry just stay calm, cool, and assertive ... remember you are the boss the pack leader so to speak. She will relinguish this roll if you follow through and are consistant. Have you ever watched the program on Natural Geographic channel called Dog Whisperer? I recommend this show to anyone who has a problematic pooch, He will give you all kinds of advice on how to fix these sort of problems and more in a way that dogs understand. I use his techniques all the time with great sucess.
The great this is your Boston is still young and will not challenge you to badly after all dogs are happiest following the leader (you) less stress this way.

Take Care and Take charge

Hope this was helpful
