Amount of time between feeding and BM?

by Jessica

Hi there!
I just recently got a 8 week old Boston and have had him for a mere 3 days! Both the vet and all the reading I have done say that puppies will eat and then have a bowel movement about 20 min later. My Boston has not been having a BM until about 2 hours after! Is this normal? Is he still getting accustomed to a new home?
Thanks everyone!

Same with our little Beanz...

Beanz was the same way, so no worries. To help us keep track of changes in diet and BM variations, we started a log to keep the time of what he did and when. Based on that we were able to determine his rhythm for when he ate and when he would go. Helped a ton for Potty Training too. We got him at 9 weeks and by 11 weeks he was going poo outside because we already knew when he was going to go - which was not the typical 20 minutes after feeding. Hope this helps!
