Advice on micro-chipping Boston Terriers?

by Susan Castelletti

I have an appointment to have my two BT's micro-chipped. They are two years old and I'm sorry I didn't have it done when they were spayed as pups. The vet said she would give them something to relax them so it wouldn't be such a harsh procedure. Have others had any problems with this procedure? Any incidents of cancer or other related issues? Advice? Suggestions? Thanks, Susan Castelletti

microchipping

I got my 3 BT's: Jack, 2yrs; Emma, 14mos; Raven, 3mos; all micro-chipped about a month ago. Jack and Emma were fine, but Raven's more of a skinny minny, so she squeeled.
At the same time, my mom got her BT, Sophie and my bro's BT, Pugsley, (both 2mos & siblings) done and they jumped a li'l, but nothing major. They're more "husky" then Raven.
Jack is father to Raven, Sophie, and Pugsley. Emma is mother to Sophie and Pugsley, which is why they are more "husky" then Raven.

Micro chip

We had the Colonel Microchipped when he was 14 months old; it never did bother him and he is now 8 years old. The vet shaved a spot on the back of his neck and injected the chip from a large needle as if it were a shot. no problems. She did not give him anything for pain and he did not even yelp.
