adopted a bo-chi - the perfect mix of small and big

we adopted a bo-chi about a year and a half ago, though didn't know what he was at first (though perhaps he was part frenchie). if you see him next to either a boston or a chihuahua it becoms obvious. I thought he was a puppy when i saw him in the pound (hanging out in the puppy room). he was actually four at the time.

he was the friendliest dog in the shelter, trying to say hi to everyone. he was a little nervous when we took him home, but adapted so quickly. he's perfectly housetrained, and often holds it for over 12 hours (if we go to bed early, he's still the last one out of bed in the morning and in no hurry to pee). he loves people like you can't believe. very submissive in that he'll roll over and give you his belly within a second of meeting you... he's also obsessed with toys (squeaky tennis balls come first, followed by all sorts of stuffed animal dog toys).

he will become great friends with other dogs, though when he first meets a big dog, he can be a punk (think he had an issue with one in his past life, as he doesn't trust them at first). he'll growl and lunge as if to tell them to back off. again, off a leash in a backyward he'll become friends with any dog.

can't recommend this mix enough. to summarize, they are sturdy enough to goof around with and play a li'l rough, but sweet and little enough they want to hang out in your lap, or next to you, whenever you'll have them. people are their pack.
