About to adopt a 4 year old rescue Boston Terrier

Hi,
I am about to adopt a very happy seemily good natured BT, It will be my first BT! I am concerned that he has been at the shelter for quite sometime and since he has been living in a run, he might not be house broken... This is the only thing I am concerned about! I do not have any other pets at the moment (so there is not another dog for him to see by example how to act). What do you suggest... a crate? a crate with a seperate bedroom/potty area? a matt, a shotgun? (lol) I will probably have the dog in a week or less and would appreciate everyone's opinion so I can prepare ahead of time!

Thanks !!!!!

Best Boston Rescue EVER
by: Kristy's Mom

The first letter in the word "_pple" is not working on my computer presently but I feel compelled to write. I volunteer for the wonderful 501 (c) 3 Friends of Homeless _nim_ls. I've been "fostering" Kristy for two (2) ye_rs now....me_ning I h_ve NO intention of giving her up to _NYONE...not even the King of Prussi_!!!

She w_s quite the problem dog when I got her @ 10 yrs.old1!!! Returned MULTIPLE times for beh_vior issues....she did 360% turn _round with lots of consistent tr_ining & LOTS of love!!!Boston's _re wonderfully intelligent, willful & s_ssy love bugs, they worm their w_y into your he_rt & off you go in love with your newly _dopted BT....you MUST give your new BT time to work his/herself into your life, PLEEEZZEE don't give up on this dog, you will be fine...I will help you...let me know if you wish to ch_t further, must go cuddle the "d_ughter" I never h_d....BEST dog in the UNIVERSE but you must know how to direct their m_gic_l energy & enthusi_sm for life....we could le_rn lots from our Bostons'...if we only listen.

No shotgun!
by: Grace

I would get some puppy pads. If you take the dog out every couple of hours you should not have a problem. If you have to leave him/her alone put them in crate. We put our dogs in a crate at night & they do great. If you work you may have to do this also. BT are great dogs. Good Luck :)
