5 Months and still not fully standing.

Hi I'm just worried that its too late for her ears to go up on their own. She's 5 months and her ears sometimes go up but majority of the time they are flopped over. I've read that when they're teething their ears tend to do this, and I know she is still in her teething stages. Any help or recommendations would be great. Thanks!

Sorry to say chances of the ears standing is not good at that age. Boston Terriers ears start to stand up on their own by 12-15 weeks and are usually standing fully erect by about 5 months old if not younger. You can try to tape them still if it bothers you. I have 4 Bostons and 2 stand up, 1 stands up half way when she feel like it and the other never stands up. It is the standard to have them erect but it also makes them very cute with them down.

Jack's ears didn't stand up until he was about 7mos. and Emma's stood up at around 5 or 6mos. I honestly think it depends on the dog.

well do you think its too late for them to ever go up on their own naturally? Its really bothering me, but I'm just going to resort to taping them.

a pup that has large stand up ears goes through stages where the ears will stand up and then flop over and this is due to the fact that the ears are still growing and the cartilage is still soft and not able to support the weight of the ears. Some dogs with large ears will never have fully up-right ears and as a result they can be taped or just leave them as they are.
